Friday Sermon 7 June 1996
And who is better in speech than one who invites towards Allah and does what is good and affirms 'I am surely of those who submit?' ('The Holy Quran'. Ha Mim Sajdah: 34). This is the sacred verse which contains limitless subjects. It reveals the concealed secrets of invitation towards Allah and it mentions every issue that is required by a caller to Allah. This verse also explains every secret to [good] training in that it is a beautiful thing to call towards God, but the beauty of the call is in the beauty of one's personal example and personal character. Also it is a given that you would be manifesting in yourself some of the attributes of whom you are calling towards. Every word that is bereft of the support of an act is also devoid of carrying any positive influence and remains unsuccessful when it preaches. Just as the secret of the success of preaching is in actions supporting the goodly word so the secret to the success of moral training is also in the act that supports the good word. A caller towards Allah has no chance of success if they themselves lack in the Godly attributes. One who receives virtue from God sort of becomes mad to tell others about such a beautiful presence from whom one receives everything. The Prophets adopted the attributes of God. These attributes are powerful and are able to influence others. People become more interested in those who truly adopt certain Godly attributes and become attractive. To invite towards Allah and then to draw attention to virtue and to continue doing so is the subject mentioned in this verse. Calling towards Allah awakens the sentience and awareness of good acts. People are entering the Ahmadiyya Community in large numbers all over the world and 'The Holy Quran' mentions the method of moral training for them that they bring people over in groups. That they stay with you and receive moral training and then depart and teach others of their nations about those strong points which would be supported through their act. Those who acted upon the directive I gave last year about adopting this practice have seen astonishing results come before them. Now it has even become impossible to gather all such representatives or nations in one place in the capital of each country who would then return to their nations and offer moral guidance and train according to the method taught by the Quran so the solution we have thought is to make a centre in every area solely devoted to moral upbringing. Ghana has acted upon this method with great sincerity. I hope that individuals as well as the Jamats would preach and offer moral training while keeping all these directions in mind.
