Description

For men is a share of that which parents and near relations leave; and for women is a share of that which parents and near relations leave whether it be little or much - a determined share.

If the relatives and the orphans and the needy are present at the division give them also therefrom and speak to them kindly.


It is good to familiarise oneself of the teaching and laws pertaining to the custom of inheritance in Judaism and Christianity in addition to the Islamic rules and commandments.  Some previous commentators have declared verse number 9 to have been abrogated which can be forcefully rejected with proofs.  Moreover the question needs to be answered whether a grandfather's estate can pass onto an orphaned grandchild?
