Description
In order to understand the word Light one should look at the fine character of Muhammad the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Each aspect of his character is illumined with light and one can illuminate oneself by inculcating the characteristics of Muhammad the Chosen Prophet and endearing them to oneself. The Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) had illuminated his heart with the light of Muhammad the Messenger of Allah. So he states: Come people for here you will find the light of God Here we inform you of the manner of contentment Today those lights have converged in my humble self I have embellished my heart with all their colours Ever since we received this light from the light of the Messenger We bound our existence with the True One May you ever show peace and grace to the Chosen one By God! From him did we receive this light (Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. 'Islam or Bani e Islam Sey Ishq'. 'Durr e Samin'). The invoking of salutations is related to the favours. One salutes the one the person under whose favour one is and because he found God through the medium of Muhammad the Chosen One and having partaken of his light so his heart spontaneously prayed for the one who introduced him to God. Any connection made with Muhammad the Prophet of Allah is a connection made with light and it is a connection from which there is then no possibility of severing. A Hadith in 'Sahih Bukhari''s chapter on Invocations sheds light on various aspects of his humility and modesty: Narrated Ibn Abbas 'When the Prophet ﷺ got up at night to offer the night prayer, he used to say 'O Allah! All praise is to you. You are the light of the heavens and the Earth and you are the light and the sustainer of whatever they contain. Every praise behoves you. You are the Truth - Your promise is true - Your Word is true - The meeting with you is true - Heaven is true - Hell is true - Judgement is true - The Prophets are true - Muhammad is true - O Allah! I obeyed you and trusted in you and believed in you and faced the opponent through your succour and put myself before you. So forgive what I have done and am yet to do and what I hid and what I exposed. You it is who increases further and you it is who hinders back. None else is to be worshiped beside you.' (Muhammad ibn Ismael al-Bukhari. 'Sahih al-Bukhari'). Similarly there is another Hadith wheere the Holy Prophet states that 'Allah the Almighty created my light first of all. Each and every particle of all the attributes granted to the whole of creation from the beginning to the end was a precedent to the birth of the person who was to end in meeting with God and the birth of one whose return was to mean the return of the whole of creation back to God. It is towards this light that we have been commanded to travel. If the light that has created everything is limitless one will also observe limitless manifestations among his creation. God the Almighty has placed endless properties in the smallest particle. We must journey towards the Holy Prophet ﷺ. Not considering him as the deity and goal but one who leads to the Divine objective. In fact travel in the direction of the Holy Prophet is in order to find God and the more one proceeds ahead in this direction the more one finds God and when one finds Him then the prayer spontaneously rises form the heart that: May you ever show peace and grace to the Chosen one By God! From him did we receive this light The text http://www.alislam.org/urdu/sermon/FST19951208-UR.pdf © The Tahir Archive / MTA International, 2015.
