Friday Sermon 15 December 1995
O People! A manifest proof has indeed come to you from your Lord and We have sent down to you a clear light. So as for those who believe in Allah and hold fast to Him will He surely admit to His mercy and grace and will guide them on a straight path to Himself. ('The Holy Quran'. al-Nisa [The Women]: 175, 176). The Community in New Zealand is holding its seventh Jalsa Salana from 17 December. I send greetings of Assalamo Alaikum to their President and the entire Community and request the Community to remember them in your prayers. 'The Holy Quran' and the Holy Prophet ﷺ are manifest proofs and light and that is the light which is created but the light of Allah the Almighty is uncreated. Here both 'The Holy Quran' and Muhammad the Holy Prophet of Allah have been called light here. There are many other verses in 'The Holy Quran' where 'The Holy Quran' and Muhammad the Messenger of Allah are mentioned together through a single pronoun. There is no difference between the light of Muhammad the Chosen Prophet and the light of the Quran. Muhammad the Messenger of Allah was the commentary of the Quran in practical terms. Muhammad the Messenger of Allah was a manifest proof just as 'The Holy Quran' is a manifest proof. The Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) states: If proof is demanded from the lover then know Muhammad is a clear proof of Muhammad (Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. 'Durr e Samin Farsi'). When Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique demanded no proof from the Messenger of Allah for what he claimed but asked only to know if he had made the claim and affirmed his truth straightaway it was because the very existence of Allah's Messenger was in itself a clear and open proof.
