Description

Verse 28: This verse draws people's attention to the fact that We turn the flow of water from the surrounding mountains to the barren and deserted lands deprived of direct rain resulting in the deserts that are full of all sorts of seeds being replenished with flourishing greenery and the animals and people who live there all benefit from the fruits and the agrarian plants and vegetables.  The same is the case of revelation.  Sometimes the Divine revelation descends in one place and those capable of cultivating a spiritual life all benefit from it.

In the beginning of Surah al-Ahzab, Allah the Almighty reminds the Holy Prophet ﷺ to act upon the Divine revelation based upon his knowledge and wisdom and in perfect obedience because this Surah proclaims the Seal of the Prophets and permits marrying the former wife of his adopted son.  It was because Hazrat Zayd [ibn Harithah] was commonly known as the adopted son of the Holy Prophet ﷺ.  It was in acting upon the Holy Prophet's wish that his marriage with Hazrat Zaynab took place which ended in divorce.  The Holy Prophet hesitated in marrying his former wife lest it should serve as a stumbling block for the people.  However Almighty God stated that he should not worry in the least for the disbelievers and the hypocrites who gossip.  

Similarly in further clarifying the bonds of kinship verse Number 5 delivers the same Divine commandment that relationships are neither formed nor broken through word of mouth.  If a husband calls his wife his mother she does not become his mother except that it is an abomination and discouraged statement which violates the violates the sanctity and status of the mother.  Among the Arabs when they wanted to be free form their wives they would in their mischief say such things.  'The Holy Quran' takes great offense at it.
