Tarjumatul Quran - Surah al-Hashr [The Gathering]: 5 - 23

Description

Verse 5: The word شَاقِّ in شَاقُّوا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ ۖ ['set against Allah and His Messenger'] is used for staunch opposition from all directions meaning that when they oppose Allah then Allah is also severe in retribution.  Verse number 7 mentions the spoils of war which were granted to the Holy Prophet through the decree of God and without his having to utilise any horses and camels and it mentions that Muslims are to share in it.

Verse Number 11 teaches a prayer for the pardon of those who excelled in their belief.  This prayer does not only apply to the believers of that time but it also applies to those who were to follow.  The subject of verse Number 15 also applies to the enemies of Ahmadiyya today.  They all appear to be united against us but their hearts are rent against each other.  They quarrel so much among themselves that it seems as if none of them would be left alive.  This verse of 'The Holy Quran' reveals the state of today in an astonishing way.  When we unite our hearts are also bonded together whether in the east or in the west.

Verse Number 19 is the one recited at an engagement ceremony.   ۖغَدٍ ['morrow'] includes the morrow of this world and of the hereafter.  If one's actions are true and sincere they are adopted by one's children.  If they are hypocritical they have the same effect upon one's children: when both mother and father counsel truth and believe in the truth but themselves tell lies.  This contradiction is present in the corrupt who have deviated from their nature.  This noble verse conceals oceans of counsel.  So keep your future generations truthful as far as possible.  If you live a life of sincerity then your children would become witnesses to it.  لَوْ أَنْزَلْنَا هَٰذَا الْقُرْآنَ عَلَىٰ جَبَلٍ ['Had We sent down this Quran upon a mountain'] reminds one of the glory manifested upon the mountain for Prophet Moses.  Moses fainted from it.  Moses had asked for the glory which was beyond his endurance but the subject here is that there are such mountains which do not shatter into pieces as was the Holy Prophet.  These are metaphors that cannot be understood without pondering upon them deeply.  Some words of these final verses are full of wisdom.
