Description
Verse Number 56 speaks of the various pastimes of the people of Paradise and the common idea of there being perpetual rest for eternity in Paradise has been refuted. Verse Number 57: The pleasure of life is derived through partners similar in nature. Allah would not keep them there alone. It would not necessarily be the partners they have here. Allah the Almighty would keep the good partnerships of this existence intact. That is those who were deserving of being called partners in this [world] would also be there. The status everyone would aspire to would be accorded them whilst living in the same place in heaven. The granting of 'Peace' would continuously to be issued by the Merciful Lord. الصِّرَاطَ [['the way'] in verse Number 67 is the path they refused to seek out in this world but at that time they would feel that it was indeed the correct path so they would be watching in dismay. The philosophy of life is mentioned in verse Number 69 that a longer life does not warrant immortality. In fact the physical capabilities keep diminishing with age. Then one returns to their earliest stage and finally turns back towards the Creator. Every incline has a decline. This eternal philosophy of creation requires an Organiser. There is no exception to this rule. Everything returns to its end and is lost in eternity. This verse seems to be a commentary on إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعون 'We belong to Allah and return to Him.' These things are so deep that they cannot be the works of a poet and are in fact glorious counsels which can only be understood by the discerning. 'The Holy Quran' states in verse Number 71 that the warnings and the prayers of the Holy Prophet ﷺ can only bring those to life who posses decency and dignity and an inkling of life. Verse Number 72 speaks of the أَنْعَامً ['quadrupeds'] which serve as transport as well as food and that human life without them is partial. Then the مَشَارِبُ ['drinks'] does not only mean their milk but also the juices and nectar of fruits. Attention is drawn that all these things have been subjected to you. Be grateful to God and value them. Because of one's ingratitude the following verse draws attention to human life originating from a despicable drop of sperm that 'This is what your worth is and you quarrel by giving examples about Us and argue about the rotten and decayed bones being brought back to life.' Do they not see that a brand of fire emerges our of the very same lush green tree when it crumbles [with age]. So it urges one to think upon it and alludes to the subtlety that in the hereafter many a revered righteous person and those like the Prophet Jesus who was purely innocent would be beckoned by God and would be completely unaware that people had given them the status of godhead in the world. So they would express hatred at every idolatrous thing. 18 February 1998. © The Tahir Archive / MTA International 2016.
