And should you apprehend that you will not be fair in dealing with orphans then marry other women as you desire 2 or 3 or 4; but if you fear you will not deal equitably then one or those over whom you have authority. That is best for you to obviate injustice. 


I instruct that research should be conducted into the Nazarene sect and their early Literature.  In these discourses I forcefully criticise the wrong statements of the non-Muslim orientalists every day but it is also important to mention that some of these orientalists were also very pure of heart and fair-minded to the point that prayers [of gratitude] arise for them from one's heart and I also appeal for prayers to be offered for them.  After this preliminary point I will read out some statements from some just and unprejudiced orientalists in the course of the commentary on verse number 4.  I shall also refer to those parts of the Bible where polygamy is mentioned.
