Description
And whosoever desires the Hereafter and strives for it as it should be striven for and is a believer are the ones whose striving shall find favour. We assist both the latter and the former as a gift from thy Lord. And the gift of thy Lord is not held back. Behold how We have exalted some of them over others; and surely the Hereafter shall be more varied in degrees of ranks and more varied in degrees of excellence. ('The Holy Quran'. Bani Israel [Children of Israel]: 20 - 22). In this current age I have found these verses to be very important and prominent in the moral training of the Community. In previous sermons most of the the families in Sweden that were addressed specifically have with the grace of Allah returned to the Community and based on the letters I have received from them I trust that God willing I will not be tormented on their behalf. When I was reading their letters I recalled a Hadith of the Holy Prophet in which he has mentioned a traveler in the desert who loses the camel that carries all his provisions and when he searches for it he cannot find it. When he almost gives up searching in hopelessness he suddenly sees the camel with all the provisions coming towards him so the joy Allah has at the repentance of his servant who has moved far from Him but repents and comes to God far excels that of the traveler upon finding the camel. For Allah the Almighty to express such sentiments for His people in spite of His carelessness clearly indicates that He loves His people. Each person should consider that their God who provides for them would feel such pain at losing me. Understand the philosophy of this Hadith. If you understand it then only those among you would be my assistants who love humanity at large because this subject relates to love. Through [your] relationship with God the love for people would perturb you at their faultering. If you find any person to be astray and your heart hates or is angered [at it] or entertains malicious thoughts then you yourself are arrogant. You will first have to return to God yourself. The Jamat was in need of these Swedish people because it loved them so that they understood that the organisation of the Jamat is sacred. The changes for the pure that have taken place there are a source of joy to me. However there are some people whose crimes are so horrific that they are outside of today's general announcement of pardon and they can never be permitted to tarnish our mosques. Through the new system being established there, it is important to increase the bonds of love as part of the new spirit which must be inculcated there. Remove all past hatreds. His Holiness the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) states that 'Lives are not shaped according to one's wishes and desires. If this had been the case then nobody would have remained restless. All disturbances testify to desires that are unfulfilled. The system of desires is apart from the system of decree and destiny'. This is a simple reality that it is forgotten. His Holiness the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) states that 'God possesses one's true biographies'. Every person can learn about their biographies themselves because they themselves have formed them. However it is important to peruse them truthfully. The statements of His Holiness the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) also shed light upon the lofty position of Tawhid [Divine Oneness]. One type of Tawhid is to remove one's personal pursuits which clash with Tawhid from one's midst in the love of God and to ask Allah for the bond of Tawhid. In the end I pray that Allah the Almighty grants steadfastness upon these virtues to the Jamat in Sweden. © The Tahir Archive / MTA International 2016.
