All praise is to Allah because today our Jalsa UK is starting and slowly and gradually this Jalsa has acquired an international status.  It has been granted a centrality.  This results in people attending it with the same taste and desire for it as they used to in the central Jalsa of Pakistan.

Out of all Jalsas this Jalsa holds a prerogative.  This same Jalsa which was convened by the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) in 1897 had another glory.  The themes chosen by His Holiness (peace be upon him) were those which I have made my themes throughout the year.  This is no coincidence rather it was a gesture from Almighty God signifying that this Jalsa of ours would bear many similarities with the Jalsa of 1897 and this year too would bear many similarities.  From this perspective when I sought the revelations of 1897 the chain or those revelations is in itself a grand tiding for the Jamat.  There are many examples to be mentioned in the inaugural session and subsequent sessions.

A hundred years ago in 1897 the revelations granted to the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) in the year '97 are revelations that hold a strange grandeur in themselves and have come bearing a great many tidings for the Ahmadiyya Community.

In a revelation of 12 March 1897 it has been reported that the Hindus would once again be drawn to Islam with great force. [1]  In 1997 Hindus are entering into the fold of Islam in large numbers and we hope this trend would advance with great force.  

'Disagreement among the opponents' has also been pointed out in the revelations of 1897 and here as well there has been disagreement placed among the opponents and this is a special Sign of this year. [2]

According to me there is now only one theme for the Ahmadiyya Community and that its the theme of Tawhid [Divine unity].  If you stand upon Tawhid and call the world towards Tawhid then this is the only way which would revive a dying world.  The true Messianic spirit has a deeply set bond with Tawhid and it descends again and again.  The same messianic spirit is represented by the name of Ahmad given to the Noble Prophet ﷺ.  Messiah is the name for a spirit, an aspect which would always bear relation to Tawhid.

Another revelation of 1897 is 'Extend your house;' [3] and today 1997 is showing a strange scene of 'Extend your house;' With the blessing of God the Jamat is enlarging its house so that as far as the land is concerned it is spreading out vastly.  One house under 'Extend your house' is the house of God.  When the house of God is built in our hearts and then comes before us in the physical building of a mosque it is that same precept to which I draw the attention of the Jamat.  The plans of the Jamat regarding the extending of mosques where all made this year and flourished in this year and God willing you would also see them enacted in mostly during this very year.  

In another revelation 'The heaven and the Earth are with you' [4] the heavens being with also points to MTA and the fact of the matter is this that the testimony of the heavens through MTA are astonishing.  I have been assuring the Jamat for over half a year that God is certainly with us.  His succour is sure to be granted but to receive His succour it is important to create a transformation in yourselves.  With the grace of God such people are found in the Jamat in large numbers who attend to righteousness and the decorum of piety.  The bounties of God that descend upon us abundantly testify that we are bringing about a pure change in ourselves.
