Description
Say 'O My servants who have committed excesses against your own selves! Despair not of the mercy of Allah, verily Allah forgives all sins. Assuredly He is Most Forgiving and Merciful.' 'And turn ye to your Lord and submit yourselves before Him prior to there coming to you the punishment when you can no longer be helped.' ('The Holy Quran'. al-Zumar [The Throngs]: 54, 55). The first verse mentions that Allah the Almighty forgives all sins and informs those committing excesses against themselves of how to be free from dismay then it states أَنِيبُوا إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ وَأَسْلِمُوا لَهُ ['turn ye to your Lord and submit yourselves before Him']. The question arises as to what these injunctions mean after mentioning forgiveness. In fact the word أَنِيبُو is placed at the head of the journey of repentance because this journey can never be undertaken until one forms a relationship with Allah. Repentance has no reality of its own whatsoever without a relationship with Allah. Only a servant would serve and love is important before serving. It has been stated in the words [1] إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ اللَّهَ that reformation is conditional to the love. The Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) has joined the words of يَا عِبَادِيَ [O My servants'] in these verses of Sura' al-Zumar with the other Quranic verse that has the words 'then follow me' and illuminated this subject that in order to receive the love of Allah it is essential to serve Muhammad the Messenger of Allah. No forgiveness can be attained with the service of Muhammad the Messenger of Allah. All those children who remain deprive of the virtues of their mothers and fathers investigate them and you will observe that they have no love for their mothers and fathers. Those who do love it is impossible for them to construct a separate path for themselves. The secret to avoiding sin is in love. Love alone is the highest pinnacle of the final strategy which overshadows all other courses of action. Gravity is the final power of construction for the physical world. It is the same power that rules the course of the entire universe and this is such a vast system and the greatest of the powers which subdues all the great and small is love. قُلْ يَا عِبَادِيَ ['Say 'O My servants'] means O those who desire to serve me! O those who thrive upon My service, because those who are true servants, can never ever commit grave sins. Study the lifestyle of the Holy Prophet so that you may serve the Holy Prophet ﷺ and compare whether you too can make each of those sacrifices for the sake of God or not. The subject of Divine mercy entails that proceed a little further in the path of Allah with a sincere endevour. To obtain the mercy of Allah inquire from the one who became an embodiment of mercy. Whom God made a Mercy for the Universe and incline towards Allah, give yourself over to Him. Create an awareness as to what state you live in, create an awareness of death for on that day no business, no friendship, no intercession would be of use. The servants have been promised forgiveness. Intercession would only come to use if you become servants. In love one runs in the direction of the beloved and in fear one flees from fear to a place of peace. So understand these 2 emotional state in depth and begin to study yourselves. The theme of فَفِرُّوا إِلَى [2] اللَّه is important in breaking a love for the sins. Obedience to Muhammad the Messenger of Allah would also come from the mercy of Allah. Proceed forward praying and Allah the Almighty would continue to increase your ability. [1] Say 'If you love Allah then follow me and Allah will love you and forgive you your faults. And Allah is Most forgiving, Merciful.' ('The Holy Quran'. Āl Imran [Family of Imran]: 32). [2] Flee ye therefore unto Allah. I am indeed a plain Warner unto you from Him. ('The Holy Quran'. al-Dhariyat [The Winnowing Winds]: 51). The text http://www.alislam.org/urdu/sermon/FST19970221-UR.pdf © Th3e Tahir Archive / MTA International, 2015.
