Description
And when Abraham said 'My Lord show me how Thou givest life to the dead'. He said 'Hast thou not believed then? He said 'Indeed but just so that my heart may be at rest'. He answered 'Take 4 birds and make them attached to thyself then put each of them on a hillock then call them and they will fly to thee in haste.' And know that Allah is the Mighty the Wise. ('The Holy Quran'. al-Baqarah [The Heifer]: 261). I had started speaking on the subject of Tauheed [Oneness of God] in today's Friday Sermon the pivotal point of which is the witness we bear in the Namaz [ritual prayer]. This is that Allah is one, none but other than He is worthy of worship and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Taking this subject further I draw your attention to the Invocation in which in along with Muhammad ﷺ the Prophet of Allah another Prophet is mentioned by the name of Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him). In relation to Tauheed no other Prophet attained the status reached by Prophet Abraham after Muhammad ﷺ the Prophet of Allah. Tauheed has a deep connection with the person of Prophet Abraham which shines out from The Holy Quran like the sun. This verse which I have recited relates to Prophet Abraham's desire to bring together the entire human race as one nation and the Immaculate Prophet Muhammad is the apex of the Abrahamic prayers because this honour was to be received by him. This verse mentions something which also has a deeply rooted connection with our Community in this age and this is the same subject of bringing humanity together [and mentions] how people from the east and west will be revived and run towards to voice of Muhammad the Prophet of Allah. The style of speech shows that it points to an event which was to take place in the future. Allah Almighty had given Prophet Abraham the tiding that He would cause that caller to Allah to be born from his seed and progeny who will revive the dead of the whole world. When he comes there will be no difference between east and west, north and south. Even the dead will come to life at his call and hasten towards him in obedience. In this relation this subject concerns the Hajj [Pilgrimage to Mecca]. There is one Hajj which is the ritual one and there is another Hajj which was foretold to Muhammad the Prophet of Allah that would dominate all other faiths: It is He Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of truth so it dominates all the other faiths even if the idolaters would hate it. ('The Holy Quran'. al-Saff [The Ranks]: 10). All of humanity will be present before this in obedience to the calling. This is that era which with the Grace of God we have entered. God has chosen us today to revive the spiritual birds of the world so as to show his manifestations. It will be Him who would revive but the promises He made to Prophet Abraham and the Promises He made to the Prophet Muhammad when God said if this Prophet calls you to revive you then it will be that same Promised one about whom Abraham had asked 'How will you revive them'? So God gave an example to Abraham that the Prophet who revives and at whose hand revival is to happen is about to come.
