Description
'Who are niggardly and enjoin people to be niggardly and conceal that which Allah has given them of His bounty. And We have prepared for the ungrateful an humiliating punishment.' 'And for those who spend their wealth to be seen of men and believe not in Allah nor the Last Day. And whosoever has Satan as companion has an evil companion!' 'And what would it do them if they had believed in Allah and the Last Day and spent out of what Allah has given them? And Allah knows them full well.' I had not exhausted the commentary of the verses I have recited in yesterday's Discourse in relation to the meanings of Gracefulness, and Spending in the cause of Allah. [The following questions were asked in relation the Discourses]: *. Hammam ibn Munabbih the pupil of Abu Hurairah remembered around 150 [Hadith] Traditions that are in a well-known book by the name of 'Sahifah Hammam ibn Munabbih' [The Book of Hammam ibn Munabbih]. A German by the name of Brockelman compiled a bibliography of all the Arabic books of the world in 7 volumes which also included the name of 'Sahifah Hammam ibn Munabbih'. The question is that are the names of the Arabic books of the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) also included in this list? *. His Holiness had mentioned the prayer of Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) 'O my Lord, a beggar I am of whatever Good You bestow on me' [i] and 'Our Lord grant us good in this world as well as good in the Hereafter and protect us from the torment of the Fire' [ii]. What is the difference between these 2 prayers? * What is the reality of the Shan e Nuzool [Background] of the Ayahs [Quranic Verses] that some commentators give great importance to. * The word Abada [Eternally] has been used for both Heaven and Hell. Can you shed some light on this? 2 February 1997. i So he watered the flocks for them. Then turning aside into the shade said 'O my Lord, a beggar I am of whatever Good You bestow on me' ('The Holy Quran'. al-Qassas [The Stories]: 25]. ii And of them are those who say 'Our Lord grant us good in this world as well as good in the Hereafter and protect us from the torment of the Fire' ('The Holy Quran'. al-Baqarah [The Heifer]: 202]. © The Tahir Archive, 2012.
