Description
Verse Number 235: The wisdom behind the advice of 'The Holy Quran' to wait for a period of 4 months and 10 days in case of being widowed. The woman should remain in the house of the deceased husband during this period. She should live simple modestly. If she works and there is a danger that her children would suffer as a result of her staying at home she may go to work with permission from the Caliph of the time. If a man be desirous of marrying her he may express desire through signs and symbols during this time. However a final decision would be taken after the time has passed. According to the Sharia' the word 'reasonable' means those good customs which are in addition to the incumbent ones and this is the same meaning of the word 'everything good' in the Baya' meaning that the ladies would obey in the optional things as well as in the obligatory. Although obedience in the 'fair' is understood to mean optional obedience but the Almighty God says that such is incumbent upon my chosen ones. If the beautiful society mentioned in verse Number 237 can be established the world would become a heaven on Earth. Verse 244: 'The Holy Quran' and the Bible are in clear and open dispute and this is proven by the Biblical statement that the Israelites ran from fear of death in their hundreds and thousands. 'The Holy Quran' mentions thousands which is far more probable. There is no possibility of their having been in their hundreds of thousands. Moreover they ran from fear of death and the Almighty God told them مُوتُوا ['die']. Here death means salvation from a life of sin and to be as the dead. So a journey into the past in the light of 'The Noble Quran' gives one a strange spiritual delight. 14 December 1994. © The Tahir Archive / MTA International, 2011.
