Verse 106: The use of the plural in 'The people of Noah treated the Messengers as liars' reveals that the people of Noah were used to this crime and the warning of the  Prophet Noah was of no use to them.  Another meaning is that the denial of one Prophet is to deny all other Prophets.

At one level the picture captured by 'The Holy Quran' of the people of Ād, Thamūd and others such as the people of Lot is helpful to the experts of archeology and on another level they also convey the proof of the truth of 'The Holy Quran'.  Christians used to say that the Ād had never existed and that the Quran has invented this but now they are helpless to admit and write that signs of the story mentioned in the Quran we used to call a work of fiction have been discovered.  The picture painted of these people is also applicable to the contemporary Industry of Europe and its stone structures as well as their choice of construction forts on the hills and churches etc.  

Verse 136: The يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ ['an enormous day'] mentions the wars between nations of the future.

Verse 166: From here the Social ills of these nations are again mentioned which is applicable to the European nations of today to a tee.
