Friday Sermon
Khutba Juma
Urdu
Description
In my Friday Sermon today I continue with the subject of Divine Compassion: On the day when every soul shall find itself confronted with the good it has done and the bad it has done, which he will wish were far far away. And Allah cautions you regarding your self-struggle. Though Allah is Most Compassionate to the servants. (The Holy Quran. Al Imran [Progeny of Imran]: 31). Allah the Exalted certainly has a most kind and compassionate way with His servants. He overlooks our evil deeds and does not show any haste while giving punishment. God has shown mercy upon us by continuously showing us signs of danger and teaching us precautions in the Holy Quran. His cautions and warnings against His wrath are designed as a source of deterrent and He puts them in place by virtue of His compassion. In drawing a parallel the clearer and the more obvious the traffic warning signs on the roadside are, the more alert, cautious and protected the motorist is. This subject can be further elucidated in the light of several Ahadith that the Holy Prophet ? told us that the kindness and compassion that all creation mutually reciprocates is a consequence of Allah's allocation to them all a mere hundredth out of His mercy and compassion, the remainder He has set aside for His own bestowal on His creation. Allah has decided that His mercy will always overcome His wrath. Paradise will be bestowed with Allah's mercy only. The Holy Prophet ? said that no one's good deeds would ensure entry into Paradise, rather it will be the grace and mercy of Allah that will enable them to do so. There are many Ahadith illustrating the Holy Prophet's ? compassion for animals and his directions for compassionate treatment towards living creatures ranging from camels, dogs and cats to birds' eggs in the nest. The Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) also had a compassionate nature and his general advise on kindness towards living creatures mostly centred on references to the compassion of the Holy Prophet ?. Today is the third day of a most auspicious annual Jalsa [Conference] taking place in Qadian. For today the organisers of the Jalsa anticipate an estimated attendance of 40000-60000. Several Indian provincial dignitaries have sent their goodwill messages for the Jalsa. In conclusion The distinguishing feature of this year's Jalsa is the participation of some members of Hadhrat Ammajan's [Hadhrat Nusrat Jehan begum, wife of the Promised Messiah] family for the first time. Remember all the participants of the Jalsa in your prayers.
