Tarjumatul Quran - Surahs al-Safat [The Rows]: 176 (2) - S: 27
Verse 181: رَبِّ ٱلْعِزَّةِ ['Lord of Honour'] carries the message that the glory and honour of the Holy Prophet ﷺ is not just for the hereafter but that his glory and grandeur would become visible in this very world. The promise to protect the peace of all the Prophets is made in verse Number 182. The various scholars have diverse opinions about the letter S abbreviated in Surah S. Here Almighty God swears by the Quran full of praise. Zikr means the word of God and the vast and great nations and words of advice. Verse Number 5 speaks of such far gone and filthy people that were astonished that even among them someone could attain the status of Prophethood. So that 'Apparently he is from among us but what he says is influential and appealing to the heart.' These clerics know that the Promised Messiah (peace be on him) has not stated that the previous Prophets were minced up so as to create an extract but they use this stock-in- trade so as to mislead and to deceive people and the proof is that we receive letters from children in Pakistan that people allege that 'Your Messiah is strange that he has made all Prophets into one.' This is not their stupidity but a rather well thought-out mischief. It is stated in verse Number 9 that their basic doubt is about the Exhortation. When they are shaken by the punishment there would be no question of understanding. In verse Number 11 there is a Challenge for the disbelievers of all ages. The scientific discoveries to date accord with this verse. There is no sign of any other being a Master or the Creator. Regarding verse Number 12 Hazrat Musleh Maud has stated that this is a Prophecy about the Battle of the Confederates as in:* Among the believers are men who have honoured the pledge they made with Allah. Some of them have fulfilled their vow and some who await, and they have not changed in the least. ('The Holy Quran'. al-Ahzab [The Confederates]: 24). The forces shall soon be routed and will turn back. (Ibid. al-Qamar [The Moon]: 46). Confederations of forces have been running away in the past as happened in the time of the Holy Prophet ﷺ and these are the same confederates in their similarity that are converging now in the era of the Promised Messiah (peace be on him). They will also be treated in the same manner. There are Prophecies with reference to the Prophet David in verse Number 18 that be patient like David was. The mountains connote the great big nations. It means that the great big nations would join the Holy Prophet ﷺ in praise morn and eve and that the high-soaring spiritual companions would be engrossed in hymns in praise of the Omnipotent Creator upon the heavens of guidance. Verse 19: The word جِبَالَ [‘mountains’] may apply to the powerful mountainous tribes which were subjugated by David or it may also refer to the mineral wealth of mountains which was well exploited in his time. Verse 20: The word ٱلطَّيْرَ [‘birds’] means men of exceptional talents who soar high on the wings of their achievements. Verses Number 22 - 26 was a scene envisioned by the Prophet David in understanding God's message. Almighty God gives the message in verse Number 27 that now we appoint you a vicegerent for the entire universe. This verse contains a general instruction that even a Prophet is not raised to the position of Prophethood until he shuns all carnal desires. This is in fact a ruling taught as a warning to his followers that they should not pursue their carnal desires. * Ahmad, Hazrat al-Hajj Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood - Khalifatul Masih II. 17 March 1998. © The Tahir Archive / MTA International, 2016.
