Description
He is Allah the Creator the Maker the Fashioner His are the most beautiful attributes. All that is in the heavens and the Earth glorifies Him, and He is the Mighty the Wise. (The Holy Quran. al-Hashr [The Gathering]: 25). The root word Sawwara, means to form, to shape, to fashion. The concept that 'Allah the Exalted has created man in His own image' [saying of Prophet Muhammad ?] is that Allah has created man capable of comprehending and understanding His Divine attributes. al- Musawwir is that Being Which facilitated all creation and gave everything its distinct form and shape. The Holy Prophet ? has said that Allah would come to this Ummah [people] in the form that they would recognise, in that He will manifest Himself through His attributes. The Holy Prophet ? had told us 1400 years ago that the point at which soul is added to a foetus is when it is over 4 months old. Now a Canadian professor concurs with this assertion and accepts the truth of the Holy Prophet ?. With reference to the root word Sawwara' (to shape, to form) the Holy Prophet ? enjoined regarding the iniquity of making mausoleums over graves and depiction of various imageries and figurines therein. When the Holy Prophet ? cursed those who 'depict images' he meant those specific images that stimulate idolatrous thoughts. 'Asuverat' is of two types: Mehssos (the shape of all creation), and Maqool (man's wisdom, intellect and understanding). The Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) noted that : He is the Creator of the bodies as well as of the souls. He determines the features of a baby in the womb. To Him belong all the beautiful names that can be thought of. ('The Philosophy of the Teachings of Islam'. 1905). All creations are beautiful. Man has superiority over animals. Human creation took place in a span of 40 days. Soul is a name for Allah's behest. Imam Razi has explained that the verse 'He it is who fashions you in the womb as he wills; there is no God but He the Mighty the Wise' [The Holy Quran. Al Imran {Progeny of Imran}: 7] points to the Omnipotence of Allah Who indeed creates this most wondrous body in the darkness of the womb: And We created you then We gave you shape then said We to the angels 'Submit before Adam' and they submitted but Iblis; he would not be of those who submit. (The Holy Quran. al-Araf [The Heights]: 12]. This refers to Allah blowing soul in Adam (on whom be peace) that made him worthy of the angels submitting to him: O man what has emboldened thee against thy Gracious God? Who created thee then perfected thee the proportioned thee aright? In whatever form He pleased He fashioned thee. (The Holy Quran. al-Infitar [The Bursting]. 7-9). Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih I (may Allah be pleased with him) said whilst commenting upon these verses that 'These verses refer to God's creation of man superior to all other creation and granting him a most temperate nature.' I wish to reiterate a point that only refers to those who write to me in Urdu. When requesting for making prayers on their behalf, people must not use the deferential verb of Dua Fermayain for me. As prayer is an entreaty to Allah the Exalted, the expression of Arz [Submit] should be used without exception.
