Quranic Discourse. Al Imran [Family of Imran]: 28 (2)-30.
'Thou makest the night merge into the day and makest the day merge into the night. And Thou bringest forth the living from the dead and bringest forth the death from the living. And Thou givest to whomsoever Thou pleasest without measure.' Let not the believers take disbelievers for friends in preference to believers- and whoever does such a thing has no connection with Allah - except that you cautiously guard against them. And Allah cautions you against Himself; and to Allah is the Ultimate Returning. * * The Arabic word 'Yuhadhiruhu kumullahu nafsahu' literally means that 'Allah cautions you against Himself,' which means that He cautions you against taking liberties regarding His commands and dictates. 15 March 1987.
