Description
When the Prophet Jonah ran towards the crowded ship laden with luggage having observed the beginnings of the punishment upon the people. His running has no negative effect upon his status as a Prophet because once made a Prophet a person always remains a Prophet but when lots were drawn on the ship has his name came out he did at least find out that he was in the wrong. Verse 143: حُوتُ means 'whale' and it was all the plan of God and Jonah was saved. verse Number 148 speaks of the Prophet Jonah being sent as a Prophet to a hundred thousand people or some more. Almighty God calculates correctly so why has the word أَوْ يَزِيدُونَ ['or some more'] been used? In highly populated areas the population continues to increase so the count cannot be the same at any given time. In verse Number 50 and a few of the verses following seem to show a possibility that all these evil beliefs were found in the Prophet Jonah's people. Verse 174: All nations that exist associate themselves with one Prophet or another. Some are Hindu, some are Christian, some are Zoroastrian, some are Buddhist but one would never find a Pharaohan. So history and time testify that the Prophets were granted succour. So if anyone prevails over the Muslims it is not a contradiction in the word of God but a proof of the faithlessness of the Muslims that they are no longer part of God's جُندَ ['hosts']. So turn away from such people. These verses fully pictorialise the Muslims of this day and age and that they unfortunately violate the Quran through their actions. 11 March 1998. © The Tahir Archive / MTA International, 2016.
