Tarjumatul Quran - Sura' al-Nur [The Light]: 4 - 22

Description

These verses are very important because the Quranic teachings are a reward from Almighty God to guard the dignity and honour of women.  

Verse 8: Explanation of لعان and the reason why no punishment was meted out on the occasion of the incident of the Slander being that the verses prescribing the penalty were revealed following it.

Verse 20: 'The Holy Quran' uses words of rebuke to reprimand those who spread فَاحِشَةُ ['profligacy'] and consider فَاحِشَةُ a minor issue.  Such cases witnesses are found in places where impudence is found to thrive alongside shamelessness.  Believers in God are never inquisitive.
